If you’re searching for an Atlanta newborn photographer, you’ve probably realized there are a lot of options—and not all newborn photographers offer the same experience.
I am based in Decatur and serve families across the Atlanta area, including Buckhead, Brookhaven, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, Roswell, Woodstock, and Canton. As a traveling newborn photographer, I bring the entire experience to your home so you can stay comfortable during those early days with your baby.
Choosing the right newborn photographer isn’t just about style—it’s about trust, safety, and feeling supported throughout the entire process. I communicate with my clients every step of the way and help with planning, styling, and answering any questions so you feel fully prepared.
With nearly 10 years of experience and hundreds of newborn sessions photographed, I’ve worked in all types of lighting situations—but in-home sessions are truly my favorite. My approach blends lifestyle and gently guided posing, which creates a natural, relaxed experience that is unique compared to traditional studio-only photography.
Before you book your newborn session, here are the most important questions to ask—and what the answers should tell you.
Newborn photography requires a very specific skill set. You want someone who is not only comfortable around babies but also has extensive experience and ongoing training.
I have been photographing newborns for nearly a decade and continue to invest in education every year. This allows me to refine my approach, stay current, and ensure your baby is always handled with care and confidence.
Styling plays a huge role in how your final images look and feel.
I provide an extensive selection of newborn wraps, knits, and simple outfits for the baby, especially for the softly posed portion of your session. For the lifestyle portion, I guide you through outfit selection and color coordination so everything feels cohesive and timeless.
I don’t offer a full client wardrobe because trends change quickly—and I want your photos to reflect you. Instead, I help you choose pieces that feel natural, comfortable, and true to your personal style.
Safety should always be the top priority in newborn photography.
My approach is completely baby-led. I never force poses or place babies in uncomfortable or unsafe positions. We move at your baby’s pace, allowing for feeding, soothing, and breaks as needed.
This creates a calm environment where your baby stays comfortable and your session feels relaxed rather than rushed.
The best time to book your newborn photographer in Atlanta is during your second trimester to ensure availability.
For photos, the ideal window is typically 10–14 days after birth when babies are still very sleepy and curled. However, because my sessions are lifestyle-focused, there is flexibility.
If you need more time to recover or adjust, sessions can take place up to around one month after birth. That said, it’s best not to wait too long if you want to capture those true newborn details.
This is one of the most common concerns—and the good news is: your baby doesn’t need to sleep.
Because my sessions are primarily lifestyle-based, the focus is on connection—how you hold your baby, interact, and settle into this new season of life.
If your baby does fall asleep, we can incorporate gently posed images. If not, that’s completely okay. Awake moments are just as meaningful and often just as beautiful.
