Things to Do in Atlanta With a Toddler and a Baby

(My Favorite Activities That Actually Felt Doable With Three Little Kids)

When my twins were born, my son was 4 years old.

Before they arrived, we did everything together. He was my little sidekick—whether we were scouting locations for my photography sessions, trying a new restaurant, or heading out on a road trip. We were always on the go.

When the twins came, I knew life would look different… but I also knew I didn’t want our world to suddenly stop.

I’m someone who tends to roll with things, and I was determined to keep getting out of the house with all three kids. We invested in a great double stroller (our favorite was the UPPAbaby Vista V2), packed a lot of snacks, and started heading out as soon as the twins were born.

Summer was approaching, so we found ourselves looking for activities that worked for everyone—something my older son would genuinely enjoy while still being manageable with babies in tow.

If you’re in that season of juggling a toddler and a baby (or multiples), here are a few of our favorite spots around Atlanta.

Georgia Aquarium

The aquarium was one of our absolute favorites.

We had the resident pass, which made it so worth it because we could go often without pressure to “make a whole day of it.” We could pop in for a couple of hours, enjoy it, and head home around nap time.

It’s easy to navigate with a stroller, which made a huge difference with twins, and I always appreciated having access to lactation rooms when needed.

My oldest loved every visit. Watching him run to the big viewing windows while the babies napped in the stroller became one of those core memories for me.

Zoo Atlanta

Another favorite.

We’d walk the zoo, check out the animals, and yes—we even did rides.

There were moments that stretched me emotionally. I still remember my oldest riding the carousel while I stayed back with the stroller. Someone kindly offered to keep an eye on him while I stood nearby watching and waving.

It broke my heart a little seeing him go without me beside him—but I waved, smiled, and cheered him on.

And honestly? He had the best time.

Fernbank Museum of Natural History

Fernbank was amazing on hot summer days.

Air conditioning, room to move, and enough to keep my older child entertained while the babies stayed comfortable—it checked every box.

It became one of our favorite indoor escapes.

Atlanta Botanical Garden

Always one of our favorites—especially in the summer.

The splash pad is such a gem. It feels refreshing without being overwhelming, and I loved that it’s enclosed enough that you can keep eyes on everyone without feeling pulled in ten directions.

That setup made outings with a toddler and babies feel so much more manageable.

Southern Belle Farm

Strawberry picking at Southern Belle Farm has become one of our annual traditions.

I actually went while pregnant with my first, and somehow the tradition has continued every year since.

The picking itself is always my favorite part, but they also have lots of seasonal activities for kids. It can definitely get crowded—and with multiple kids it can add up quickly—but it’s still one of those outings we look forward to every year.

Boomerang Play Center

One of my favorite indoor play spots near Midtown.

What I especially loved was that there was a space for bigger kids and an area that worked once the twins started crawling.

That meant everyone could enjoy it in their own way, which is rare when you’re balancing different ages.

A Little Encouragement for Getting Out the Door

A lot of weekends it was just me and the three of them because my partner was working.

And yes—sometimes it felt like a lot.

There were moments where someone needed a snack, someone else needed a diaper change, and my oldest wanted to do something I physically couldn’t do while pushing the stroller.

But we made it work.

We figured it out.

For me, so much of it came down to mindset.

You can absolutely feel overwhelmed by packing everyone up and leaving the house—and sometimes you will.

But sometimes the best thing you can do is pack the bags anyway.

Bring extra clothes for everyone (including yourself), plenty of snacks, water, wipes, and whatever makes the outing feel easier… and go.

It doesn’t have to be perfect.

The babies might cry. Someone might spill something. Plans might shift halfway through.

And you still might end up having the best day.

Getting out of the house with little ones can feel like a big task in those early days—but those ordinary outings often become the memories we hold onto the longest.

The stroller walks, the snack breaks, the summer outings with everyone piled in together… those are the moments that tell the story of this season.

And if you’re looking for more support during pregnancy, postpartum, or early motherhood, I also shared some of my favorite local resources in my Atlanta Motherhood Guide.
